Enid ground her teeth together and looked away.

“I know you were hurt, but you can’t shut everyone out forever,” he insisted, lifting his hand and tucking it under her chin.

She met his eyes with a glare.

“Let me in, Enid,” he pleaded, stroking his thumb over her chin.

Enid licked her lips and leaned forward, capturing his lips with hers. Alex sucked in a breath as his brain caught up to what was happening. Her tongue trailed over his upper lip and he moaned at the contact.

Alex smiled, but didn’t move in case she thought he was sleeping. It was a baby step. The first of many he hoped.

Hi, my name is Author Bethany Shaw. (Waves) Writing has always been a passion of mine and I’m thrilled to share my creative worlds with other people. Paranormal romance is always fun to write because I can break the barriers and create interesting and compelling characters who kick ass.

How long have you been a writer and how did you come to writing?
I’ve been writing for as long as I can remember. In elementary school I would make books out of construction paper. During middle and high school I’d carry around a notebook where I’d pen my stories. I took a creative writing class in college, but after that, I didn’t pursue any writing for quite some time. In winter of 2012 I found my inspiration and wrote Out of the Shadows, releasing it in August of that year.

What are the best and the worst aspects of writing?
The best aspects of writing are creating fun, interesting, and imaginative characters and worlds. The worst part would be writing the blurb.

What inspires you to write?
My family and the voices in my head that become these amazing characters in my stories. I have two wonderful children and a super supportive husband. I’ve always wanted to be an author and I can’t imagine having another job in my life.

What is the title of your story included in Alpha Fever? How did you come up with this story?
My story in Alpha Fever is Shimmers in the Dark. I’ve been on a big post apocolyptic kick for a while now, thank you The Walking Dead. Alex and Enid’s story is a spin off of a novel that I plan to write involving Enid’s brother, Nik. As I was planning his story Enid began talking to me and I focused on her and Alex first as I thought they had an incredilbe story to be told as well.

How did you conduct your research for – Shimmers in the Dark?
Google. Lots and lots of Google. I’ve never been to Mount Rainier but would really love to go sometime. The lava tubes the wolves live in are actually a part of the mountain-at least according to Google.
What would your friends say is your best quality?
I’m caring and passionate.

Are reader reviews important to you?
Yes. They help me see what/how I can improve and its nice to hear that readers like/love my stories.

What do you do when you don’t write?
I enjoy spending time with my family. I have two children a boy (7) and a girl (4). We love to get out on our bikes or spend a day at the park.

Tell us about your other books?
Paranormal Romance is my go-to. I love writing about werewolves. All my stories have a strong hero and heroine with lots of action between the sheets and against the bad guys.

If you could share one thing about yourself that you would like readers to know what would it be?
I’m painfully shy. I really struggle trying to find the right things to say to people in real life.
